After the Narcissist Series: What Comes Next In Healing?

If you’ve been following the series on narcissists and emotional blackmail, you might be feeling… a lot. Like what comes next for me?

Maybe you are feeling:

Relieved. Angry. Empowered.
Maybe confused, or wondering what to do now.

The truth is, narcissism isn’t a one-size-fits-all issue.
Each experience brings its own storm. And just when you think you’re free—a text comes in. Out of nowhere. Like it did for me… just this week.

So let me offer a few next steps, in case you’re still navigating that fog.

📃 A Self-Contract (from Dr. Susan Forward)

This is one of the simplest but strongest ways to begin healing from narcissistic abuse.

It’s just a short, personal promise. Something like:

“From this day forward, I will no longer give in to emotional blackmail.
I will remind myself that I am not responsible for another adult’s feelings, actions, or drama.
I deserve respect. I deserve space. I deserve peace.”

You can tweak the words. Make it yours.
Write it on a sticky note. Put it in your journal.
Say it out loud. Or just let it settle into your bones.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about starting.

❤️ A Final Thought (For Now)

Narcissists don’t just disappear.
They circle back. They test the waters. They send a text and wait.

But you’re different now.
You’re learning. You’re seeing clearly. You’re not reacting the way you used to.

And that?
That’s how the power begins to shift.
