🧭 The Hidden Cost of Not Knowing Your Strengths
Sometimes we say we feel “off,” or “out of sync,” or just plain stuck. Is it because we don’t know our strengths?
We might try harder, try new tools, try to be someone we think we’re supposed to be.
But here’s a few questions we rarely ask:
What if the problem isn’t me?
What if I’m just not living in my strength zone?
🌿 Most of Us Were Taught to Focus on What’s Wrong, Not About Knowing Our Strengths
You don’t like confrontation? Go to assertiveness training.
You’re not a natural planner? Get better at structure.
You’re overwhelmed by loud people? Learn to “speak up.”
It’s well-intentioned. But it teaches us to mold ourselves into someone we’re not—instead of building on the strengths already within us.
We get performance reviews that list our “areas to improve.”
We spend years trying to “correct” those parts—only to burn out, feel bored, or stay stuck.
And eventually… we believe we are the problem.
💡 But What If I Can Recognize My Strengths?
Tom Rath, author of StrengthsFinder 2.0, says it best:
“You cannot be anything you want to be—but you can be a lot more of who you already are.”
Imagine the shift that could happen if, instead of managing your weaknesses, you recognize your strengths and then magnify them?
What if you’ve been trying to thrive in a role that doesn’t fit?
What if the fatigue, frustration, or fog you feel is your strength saying:
“This isn’t our thing. Let’s go home.”
🔁 You Don’t Have to Fix Yourself
Confidence doesn’t come from forcing yourself into a new mold.
It comes from finding out what you already do well—and owning it.
You’re not late. You’re not broken.
And you haven’t missed anything.
You may have just never been told:
You’re allowed to lead with your strengths
Let that land.
Let it sit with you.
There’s no rush.
We’re just beginning a new chapter—and you’re invited to come along.
